Meet Your Legislators’ Day for Condos and HOA’s – 10/4/17

The Michigan Community Association Institute Legislative Action Committee is hosting a meet your legislators’ day on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 @ 10:00 am at Karoub Associates, 121 West Allegan, Lansing, MI 48933.

**Please RSVP to Joe Gebhardt at jgebhardt@kramertriad.com no later than September 20, 2017.  Please include the names of your state representative and senator.  If you do not know your state representative or senator, please include your home address and we will look it up.

All attendees are invited to speak to their state representatives and senators about bills impacting Michigan community associations.

WHAT IS THE LAC?

The Michigan Community Association Institute Legislative Action Committee (LAC), is the official voice with legislators and regulators for community associations in Michigan. The LAC exists to speak with one voice on legislative and regulatory matters that impact community associations, community association managers and CAI business partners.

WHAT IS PURPOSE OF LANSING DAY?

  • Meet with members of the State House of Representatives, State Senate and their staff to provide them with information about important community association issues and raise awareness about the LAC.
  • Educate the members of CAI and the communities that they serve regarding legislation impacting Michigan community associations.

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES

  • 10:00am – 11:00am – Presentation of key LAC state issues and talking points
  • 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Scheduled Meetings with your state representative, senator and/or staff (Karoub Associates is located near their office buildings so you will be walking to the offices after the presentation)

SCHEDULING MEETINGS WITH YOUR LEGISLATORS 

CAI will schedule your meetings with your members of the legislature and their staff if you RSVP by September 20, 2017.  If you have a personal relationship and prefer to schedule the meeting on your own, please let us know.
