SB 914: Proposed Amendment to the Michigan Condominium Act

Michigan Senate Bill 914 (2018) was introduced on March 21, 2018. Senate Bill 914 would amend various sections of the Michigan Condominium Act related to providing electronic notice of amendments to condominium documents, director voting via e-mail and setting more specific standards for co-owner inspections of a condominium association's books and records.

HB 5440: Michigan HOA’s Could Not Prohibit the Display of the American or State Flag

Michigan House Bill 5440 was introduced on January 24, 2018. HB 5540 would prohibit a Michigan homeowner’s association or neighborhood association from prohibiting the display of the United States flag or the state flag of Michigan.

Michigan House Bill 4015 (2017): Bad News for Michigan Condominium Associations

On January 12, 2017, House Bill 4015 (2017) was introduced in the Michigan House of Representatives and would make significant changes to the Michigan Condominium Act. The bill is a reincarnation of former House Bill 5655 that had failed to pass in 2016. Similar to House Bill 5655, House Bill 4015 is extremely problematic for Michigan Condominium Associations.
